AI Transparency Statement

I’ve worked in language services long enough to remember when “machine translation” was still a dirty word. Since the early aughts, I’ve used MT and related tooling in various forms. After leaving Tumblr/Automattic in 2021, I started integrating artificial intelligence more deliberately into my freelance practice. The goal is simple: faster iteration and stronger strategic depth across localization, editorial, SEO, and content operations.
How AI Supports My Daily Workflow
| Task | How I Use AI |
|---|---|
| Transcription | I may use AI to transcribe interviews, stakeholder calls, and audio notes. This can up documentation and helps keep key details easily retrievable. |
| Research | I use various LLMs in agentic workflows to gather and cross-verify facts, competitor data, trends, and multilingual resources. This helps validate content and back decisions with data. |
| Ideation | I may use AI to brainstorm angles, subject lines, campaign themes, and structure outlines. I’ve found this nicely supplements my own creativity and accelerates iteration. |
| SEO | AI helps me cluster keywords, evaluate search intent, and optimize metadata and structure in line with the latest SERP behavior. |
| Drafting and editing | I often use AI for rough drafting, repurposing, and polishing, particularly for multilingual content. You can view many German and English examples of this on Modilingua’s localization blog. Final quality control and approval are always done by me. |
| Localization | Depending on the domain, I may use AI to pre-translate, compare regional variants, and align terminology across markets. Output is post-edited and reviewed by me. |
| Automation | I self-host OpenClaw (locally on its own machine) and n8n (on my own VPS) to streamline repetitive content operations, reporting, and internal workflows. This reduces turnaround time and frees up time for creative work, strategy, and quality control. |
My AI Approach
- Human-led, AI-augmented: I manage and deliver every project personally.
- Confidential by default: I don’t upload client data without consent. Sensitive inputs are anonymized. Where possible, I use local or self-hosted options.
- Value-driven: I use AI when it improves quality, speed, or decision clarity.
